The Web as a Learning Tool

Laptop_014.jpgThis course (3 ch each) will be delivered over an eleven-week period to students in the 4-year Bachelor of Education program for aboriginal students through the Mi'kmaq-Maliseet Institute at the Faculty of Education.

ED 4862 (Winter term) will explore the use of emerging web 2.0 tools within dynamic learning environments to facilitate the development learner-centered communities and 21st Century literacy / information skills; with a focus on the use of blogs, wikis, podcasts and other creative read / write web tools by learners.


ED 4862 classes will start Monday, January 17th and run Monday evenings until April 4th. Class will be held in a virtual (Cisco WebEx) environment from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm (AST).

Students may join virtually from any computer with Internet access (high-speed is suggested). Participants will also require a microphone (built-in or external).

Some students in areas where there are multiple participants may wish to gather in small groups to participate.
